Импорт проектов, созданных в более ранних версиях Premiere Pro
Можно добавить содержимое проекта, созданное с помощью более ранней версии Premiere Pro в Mac OS или Windows. Кроме того, в ОС Windows можно импортировать проекты, созданные с помощью более ранних версий Premiere Pro. Импортированные клипы и эпизоды добавляются на панель «Проект» в подборку с именем импортированного проекта. Иерархия подборок импортированного проекта сохраняется. Прерванные переходы и эффекты не сохраняются. Будьте осторожны при импортировании проекта в проект с иной временной разверткой или частотой дискретизации аудио, так как это может повлиять на конфигурацию при редактировании и качество звука.
Импорт проекта в другой проект — это единственный способ переноса всех данных последовательности или клипа.
Помимо этого, можно открывать проекты, созданные с помощью Premiere Pro для Windows, в Premiere Pro для Mac OS, включая все содержимое, которое могло быть импортировано из более ранних версий.
Примечание.
В более ранних версиях Adobe Premiere раскадровки хранились в файлах независимо от файлов проекта. В Premiere Pro все функции раскадровки представлены на панели «Проект». В Windows можно импортировать файлы раскадровки более ранних версий с помощью выбора команды «Файл» > «Импорт».
Импорт выбранных эпизодов из проектов Premiere Pro
Можно импортировать один или несколько выбранных эпизодов из другого проекта Premiere Pro.
Примечание.
Чтобы подготовить ресурсы эпизода к импорту вместе с ним, необходимо сперва консолидировать проект, в котором находится эпизод. С помощью компонента Project Manager необходимо собрать необходимые файлы и скопировать их в новое местоположение.
Выберите команду «Файл» > «Импорт», перейдите к файлу с интересующим вас эпизодом или эпизодами и выделите его.
Нажмите кнопку «Открыть».
В диалоговом окне импорта проекта выберите элементы для импорта — весь проект целиком или выбранные эпизоды; нажмите кнопку OK
В диалоговом окне «Импорт эпизода Premiere Pro» выберите эпизоды, которые нужно импортировать, и нажмите кнопку OK
Импорт из After Effects и Adobe Premiere Pro
Можно импортировать один проект After Effects в другой. Все материалы импортируемого проекта, в том числе элементы видеоряда, композиции и папки, будут размещаться в новой папке на текущей панели «Проект».
Можно импортировать проект After Effects из другой операционной системы, при этом необходимо оставить неизменными имена файлов, папок, а также полные или относительные пути ко всем файлам проекта. Чтобы сохранить относительный путь, исходные файлы видеоряда должны располагаться в том же томе, что и файл проекта. Для сбора всех файлов проекта или композиции в одном месте используется команда «Файл» > «Сбор файлов». (См. Рекомендации по межплатформенным проектам.)
Выберите «Файл» > «Импорт» > «Файл».
Выберите проект After Effects для импорта и нажмите кнопку «Открыть».
Если используемая операционная система не поддерживает формат файла, если файл отсутствует или не работает ссылка, After Effects заменяет эти объекты заполнителем с цветными полосами. Заполнитель можно заново связать с требуемым файлом, два раза щелкнув запись на панели «Проект» и указав путь к исходному файлу. В большинстве случаев требуется заново связать только один файл видеоряда. After Effects сам находит оставшиеся недостающие элементы, если их местоположение не меняется.
Примечание.
При рендеринге фильма и его экспорте в формат QuickTime (MOV) или Video for Windows (AVI) можно встроить ссылку на проект в контейнер-файл. Для импорта проекта импортируйте файл в формате MOV или AVI и в диалоговом окне «Импорт файла» выберите «Проект» из меню «Импортировать как». Если файл содержит ссылку на проект, который был перемещен, можно указать путь к проекту..
Импорт проекта Adobe Premiere Pro
Примечание.
При импорте в After Effects проектов Adobe Premiere Pro, Dynamic Link не используется. After Effects не позволяет импортировать проекты Premiere Pro, если хотя бы один эпизод в нем уже имеет динамические ссылки, связанные с After Effects. (См. раздел Работа с Adobe Premiere Pro и After Effects.)
After Effects импортирует проекты Adobe Premiere Pro на панель «Проект» одновременно как новую композицию с клипом Adobe Premiere Pro в качестве слоя, и как папку, в которой каждый клип размещается в виде отдельного элемента видеоряда. Если проект Adobe Premiere Pro содержит подборки, After Effects преобразует их в папки внутри папки проектов Adobe Premiere Pro. After Effects преобразует встроенные эпизоды во встроенные композиции.
При импорте в After Effects не все функции проекта Adobe Premiere Pro сохраняются. При импорте проекта Premiere Pro в After Effects сохраняются те же функции, что и при операциях копирования и вставки между этими двумя проектами. (См. раздел Импорт из After Effects и Adobe Premiere Pro.)
After Effects сохраняет порядок клипов на таймлайне, длительность видеоряда (включая все начальные и конечные точки после обрезки), местоположения маркеров и переходов. Порядок размещения слоев на панели «Таймлайн» After Effects основан на порядке расположения клипов на панели «Таймлайн» Adobe Premiere Pro. After Effects добавляет клипы Adobe Premiere Pro в панель «Таймлайн» в виде слоев и в том порядке, в котором они отображались на панели «Таймлайн» Adobe Premiere Pro — снизу вверх и слева направо. After Effects сохраняет изменения скорости клипа, например, заданные с помощью команды «Клип» > «Скорость», и эти изменения отображаются в виде значения в столбце «Растягивание» на панели «Таймлайн» After Effects.
After Effects импортирует эффекты, которые используются как в Adobe Premiere Pro, таки и в After Effects, и сохраняет ключевые кадры этих эффектов.
Переходы и заголовки (за исключением растворений), добавленные в проекты Adobe Premiere Pro отображаются в композициях After Effects в виде слоев с изначальным местоположением и продолжительностью.
Ключевые кадры уровня звука сохраняются.
Выберите «Файл» > «Импорт» > «Файл» или «Файл» > «Импорт» > «Проект Adobe Premiere Pro».
При выборе варианта «Импорт» > «Проект Adobe Premiere Pro» отображаться будут только проекты Adobe Premiere Pro.
Importing from After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro
You can import one After Effects project into another. Everything from the imported project—including footage items, compositions, and folders—appears inside a new folder in the current Project panel.
You can import an After Effects project from a different operating system, as long as you maintain the filenames, folder names, and either full or relative paths (folder locations) for all files in the project. To maintain relative paths, the source footage files must reside on the same volume as the project file. Use the File > Collect Files command to gather copies of all files in a project or composition into a single location. (See Cross-platform project considerations.)
Choose File > Import > File.
Select the After Effects project to import, and click Open.
If the operating system that you are using does not support a file format, if the file is missing, or if the reference link is broken, After Effects substitutes a placeholder item containing color bars. You can reconnect the placeholder to the appropriate file by double-clicking the entry in the Project panel and navigating to the source file. In most cases, you need to relink only one footage file. After Effects locates other missing items if they’re in the same location.
When you render a movie and export it to the QuickTime (MOV), Video for Windows (AVI) format, you can embed a link to the project in the container file. To import the project, import the MOV or AVI file, and choose Project from the Import As menu in the Import File dialog box. If the file contains a link to a project that has been moved, you can browse to locate the project..
Import an Adobe Premiere Pro project
Importing an Adobe Premiere Pro project into After Effects does not use Dynamic Link. After Effects can’t import a Premiere Pro project if one or more sequences in it are already dynamically linked to After Effects. (See Working with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.)
When you import an Adobe Premiere Pro project, After Effects imports it into the Project panel as both a new composition containing each Adobe Premiere Pro clip as a layer, and as a folder containing each clip as an individual footage item. If your Adobe Premiere Pro project contains bins, After Effects converts them to folders within the Adobe Premiere Pro project folder. After Effects converts nested sequences to nested compositions.
Not all features of an Adobe Premiere Pro project are preserved when the project is imported into After Effects. The same features are preserved when you import a Premiere Pro project into After Effects as when you copy and paste between Premiere Pro and After Effects. After Effects preserves the order of clips in the timeline, the footage duration (including all trimmed In and Out points), and marker and transition locations. After Effects bases the arrangement of layers in the Timeline panel on the arrangement of clips in the Adobe Premiere Pro Timeline panel. After Effects adds Adobe Premiere Pro clips to the Timeline panel as layers in the order in which they appeared—from the bottom up and from left to right—in the Adobe Premiere Pro Timeline panel. After Effects preserves changes made to the speed of a clip, for example, with the Clip > Speed command, and these changes appear as a value in the Stretch column in the After Effects Timeline panel.
After Effects imports effects common to Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and preserves keyframes for these effects.
Transitions and titles (except for dissolves) included in your Adobe Premiere Pro project appear in the After Effects composition as solid layers with their original location and duration.
Audio Level keyframes are preserved.
After Effects To Premiere Workflows
How to work back and forth between After Effects and Premiere.
We recently posted a mind blowing trick showing you how to copy and paste from Premiere Pro to After Effects. Though that may be convenient for finding footage or quickly moving effects between programs, it does have a wild west air of chaos about it.
Not unsurprisingly, Adobe has a couple of other powerful methods for integrating After Effects comps into Premiere Pro sequences that use a little more precision.
First, let’s ask ourselves why we’d even be in Premiere Pro in the first place… There are many reasons why as a motion designer you should be working in Premiere Pro. Maybe you’re crafting sound design, making revisions to a delivery, cutting a reel, color correcting, or you’re just a one-stop-shop for all of your client’s video work. Because of these reasons, our friends at Adobe thought of some friendlier ways to move between the two programs without the need to constantly render.
How to Import After Effects Comps to Premiere
After creating a comp in After Effects (and saving the project), open Premiere Pro and head to the project panel. Right click and select Import. Then simply find the After Effects project with your desired comp, select it, and click open. A new window will pop up and you’ll immediately notice Adobe’s dynamic link server firing up.
After Adobe’s magic settles down (a few brief seconds or short minutes depending on the complexity of your AE project) the window will populate with your AE project’s contents. If you follow a good organization scheme, finding your comp is as easy as twirling open the comps bin.
Select your comp and click OK. Boom. Your comp is imported. It will have the same name as your AE comp with a forward slash followed by the name of the AE project it came from. It’ll operate like any other type of footage you may have in your Premiere project. You can throw it into the source monitor, mark in/out points, and drop it in a sequence, with or without audio.
The amazing thing is that when you now go back into After Effects and make a change, that change is reflected in Premiere without rendering! This includes making the comp longer or shorter. You’ll need to save your AE project after making any changes though.
Replace Premiere Footage with After Effects Comp
Now let’s assume that you’re snowballs deep into editing a project and need to add a graphic or do some compositing on a specific clip or clips. Premiere makes this pretty easy by letting you right click the clip or clips you’re interested in and selecting Replace with After Effects Composition.
Immediately you’ll notice what you had selected turns salmon (the color, not the fish) and (if it’s not already open) After Effects opens, prompting you to save a new project. If an AE project is already open, the clips will be added to a new composition in that project. The composition that appears in AE matches the same settings as the sequence it came from. The clip or clips also have the same properties as they did in Premiere, including scale/position/rotation/opacity and potentially effects and masks (if they’re compatible across programs).
The same rules from importing the comp into Premiere still applies. You can update in After Effects and those changes will be reflected in Premiere. You’ll notice though that the comp’s name is less than ideal – something like “YourSequenceName Linked Comp 01”. If you only have one or two of these linked comps in your project, that’s easy to manage, but if you have dozens of these comps in a project, things can get a little hairy.
Luckily you can rename the comp in After Effects and the dynamic link still stays intact! Unfortunately the name change does not update into Premiere, but you can manually change that as well by right clicking the clip and selecting rename.
A QUICK NOTE…
If your comp is overly complex, it still may be best to render. I’ve also found that ram previewing in After Effects first helps playback in Premiere.
Importing Premiere Sequences in After Effects
It Works Backwards Too?!
It’s like reading right to left. There are times where you’d like to pull in your entire sequence from Premiere into After Effects and it will behave differently depending on how we import.
If you want to have a Premiere sequence act like a single piece of footage, simply right click in the AE project panel, select Import > File…, and click on the Premiere project that has your desired sequence. A familiar looking window with Adobe’s dynamic link will appear letting you pick all or one of the sequences from the project. Click OK and the sequence will be added to your project panel. If you double click on it you’ll notice that it opens in the footage panel, not the timeline, this allows you to treat the sequence as if it were a single video file.
Alternatively you can pull the sequence in with all of its edited glory still intact, by right clicking in the AE project panel and select Import > Adobe Premiere Pro Project. Select your project and a small window will appear letting you decided which sequence to import or to bring in all the project’s sequences. Click OK and you’ll see a new comp in your After Effects project containing all the little bits and pieces from your Premiere sequence.
Importing AAF and XML Footage
WARNING: Advanced Stuff Ahead!
Are you ready to get real crazy? No? You just edit on a different NLE than Premiere? Adobe still has you covered – to a point.
This last method works well enough to move sequences from other NLEs like Avid or FCPX into After Effects. It’s also used to move sequences between NLEs. I won’t go too in depth here other than to show you that it is possible. Your mileage with this technique will vary depending on your workflow and programs used.
Within most modern NLEs, there is an option to export either an XML or AAF of a sequence. These are small documents containing thousands of lines of text that tell programs how to treat a sequence of video clips. Think of it as your edit in code form.
AAFs tend hold more information, but can be trickier to make work. XMLs tend to work better across platforms, but carry less information. Both are imported into After Effects in the same fashion. To import a sequence with this data right click in the project window and select Import > Pro Import After Effects. Select the XML/AAF and click Import. Depending on your setup, complexity of your sequence, and translation document used (XML or AAF), some things may or may not translate to AE. Expect your clips to come across and anything else that also translates is just bonus. Note that any changes will not dynamically update and you should check your import for possible errors.
