Luckily OBS has set up an easy to use feature that allows us to import our settings from OBS to Streamlabs immediately. You may have seen a prompt when your first signed into Streamlabs. This prompt asks you if you want to import to Streamlabs. Don’t worry if you didn’t utilise this, we are going to show you what to do if you missed it.

Step 1 – Open Streamlabs OBS

Go to settings –> General –> OBS Import

Step 2 – Click Start

A large start button will appear. Click start and within a few seconds your whole OBS setup will be imported to Streamlabs ready to use on your stream.

You can now stream with your previous setup and all of the extra features Streamlabs offers.

How To Import Streamlabs Overlays to OBS – [Easy Guide]

Get On Stream

Lots of people are switching from Streamlabs back to OBS as they have been noticing some lag/framerate issues while using Streamlabs. If you have been having the same issue you may want to move back to OBS a more lean software for streaming.

However, you’ve spent hours on end creating those beautiful scenes in Streamlabs and don’t want to lose them. In this article, we are going to go through step by step and show you how to import scenes/overlays from Streamlabs to OBS in less than 5 minutes.

If you don’t want to read you can watch the video tutorial here:

When you click manage all you will see a list of all the overlays you have ever imported into Streamlabs. We want to select the one we want to move to OBS studio and tag it with ‘OBS Import’ so we can easily identify it later.

Once you have given your scenes an identifiable name we can click done and close Streamlabs.

Step 2 – Import Scenes to OBS from Streamlabs

In OBS we want to go to the top bar and select Scene Collection –> Import.

You will then be presented with a window like below showcasing all the overlays from your Streamlabs and potentially other streaming software. You should be able to identify the overlay that you created earlier in the tutorial.

As you can see the one I renamed earlier as Modern Animated – OBS Import is showing. We just want to select it and click import.

Nothing will happen when you do this. We now need to go back up to Scene collection on the top bar and you will then see your imported overlay at the bottom.

Just select it and now all of your scenes will now be imported into OBS ready to use.

Step 3 – Add Your Cameras, Games Etc

Now your scenes are imported you will still need to go in and add your cameras, screens and game sources. This shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to do.

You can now stream directly from OBS while still using all of the elements you were using in Streamlabs.
